Have you ever said to yourself?...
I never hear God "speak" to me the way He does to some of His children. Maybe it's because I'm not sensitive enough to His Spirit of Holy enough, or maybe I'm _____ (fill in the blank)? But I know He guides me and protects me in my daily walk, why can't I hear Him?
Learning to discern God's voice takes time and is born out of a deep and intimate relationship with Him. It has very little to do with being "sensitive" and has everything to do with being in relationship with the Father. He is the one who will teach you. One of the indwelling Holy Spirit's jobs is to teach us all things, including how to discern God's voice, and recognize when it is not Him. John 10:27 says "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." - NIV
In this short bible study we will take you on a journey to assist you in recognizing God's voice and take you through a few useful steps to help you in your walk with God. Each of us are given gifts from God, one of those gifts is prophecy. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:5 "I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied." - NKJV
In our studies we will take you through scriptures to build a base on which we will help you grow your relationship with God. This foundation will help fortify who you are in Christ and launch you into a whole new world that God has made available to us all.
As part of this course we will be doing weekly exercises that will prove to you that you indeed hear God's voice and to some of you, you may recognize that it was Him who was speaking to you all along. This course may also draw out those who have a special gifting and just didn't know what was happening or what to do with this gift.
Facilitating this study will be Irene and Rick Scharf assisted by Elaine Wall.
What do I need to bring?... Your favourite bible, a pen and paper (or prayer journal) for notes, and a willing and prayerful heart.
