What is Alpha?

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith.

Alpha is a course (currently running online using ZOOM) that creates a space where people come and discuss life’s big questions in a friendly, open and informal environment.

Our Online Alpha will be held on Tuesday Nights @ 7pm starting October 12th, and run to November 16th. To join us please join our ZOOM meeting 890 8660 4903 with password: clccalpha

Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone’s welcome. It runs in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it. No two Alphas look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: food, a talk and good conversation.

Please complete the form at the bottom to sign up for our upcoming Alpha Online.

Normally our sessions would start with some good food and fellowship, however, with our current social distancing measures we are not able to enjoy that at this time. We want to encourage you to grab your favorite beverage, find a comfortable spot, and join us through Zoom.

The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Each talk is around thirty minutes long and given as a live talk or played as a video. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions from Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith? to Why and how do I pray? and How does God guide us?

One of the most important parts of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and discuss in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say (seriously). It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
