DROPPING OFF MY CHILD
During the week before the camp

you will receive an email stating the colour and name of the group that your child will be in.

The morning of the camp - Follow the bear paw prints
  1. You will be greeted when you first enter the church
  2. If you know the colour and group name for your child(ren) you can continue into the large room (there you will see small groups sitting on blankets holding up the signs for the group names - it can feel a bit chaotic when you come in especially if you come once the program has begun but we will help you find your groups)
  3. if you don't know the colour and group name for your child(ren), we have the master list.
  4. Please introduce yourself to the group leader.
  5. You will exit the room through the side door and follow the bear prints out the church back to the parking lot.
PICKING UP MY CHILD
Follow the bear paw prints
  1. You will enter the church and wait in the foyer - please do not go into the large room with the children.
  2. At dismissal time, you will be met at the door, and the person will ask who you are if s/he does not know you, and the names of the children you are picking up (s/he will check the pick up list from the Kids Camp registrations)
  3. At this point, you will go with the person into the large room and gather your children.
  4. You will exit the room through the side door and follow the bear prints out the church back to the parking lot.

ILLNESS
  • Please do not send your child if they are feeling sick (in the past 24 hours).
  • If your child becomes sick while at kids camp, we will be calling you (or emergency contact if we can't reach you) to come get your child.
  • If you do need to keep your child home, we ask you give us a call.
FAQ

I'm trying to register my child for the camp. But I can only select the morning/afternoon session?

The session not listed is full, but there is still space in the other session.

What time do I bring my child to the church?

The doors will open at 8:45 / 12:50 and the program begins at 9:00 / 1:00 . Your child will join his/her group in the main large room (see dropping off my child menu item - arriving a few minutes before the program begins will make it easier for your child to adjust)

What will my child eat for snack?

Midway through the morning children will be given a small snack which relates to the theme of the day, along with water. Allergies will be respected as indicated on their registration.

What shoes will my child wear during the day?

Your child does not need to bring special indoor shoes. However, we ask that the shoes are comfortable clean shoes to help protect our flooring, and shoes that will allow participation in games.

I am having troubles registering online. What do I do?

Please call (780-594-5542 ext. 2), or e-mail ( ) the church. We will do what we can to help.

Does my child need to bring anything?

No, everything they need should be provided. Please do not send any toys with your child.

What if my child has special needs?

Please help us to better serve your child by informing us of the specific needs your child has. If your child has any extra help at school such as an aide, s/he will need an aide at the Kids Camp as well. We ask that you help us by providing a competent aide for your child. We can work together with you to help secure someone, although we do have limited resources of trained people.

Is there a waiting list once the Kids Camp has reached its maximum capacity?

Yes, there will be a waiting list once both camps are full.

What is GO Protect?

We have a protection plan in place called GO Protect. All paid and unpaid staff are screened, including a vulnerable sector criminal record check and reference checks. We adhere to the policies established within that plan. As such, the doors will be locked after 9:15, and only those people who have a good reason to be in the building will be allowed in. If you arrive late, simply ring the doorbell.

How will I pick up my child?

Your child MUST be picked up at noon / 4:00. Details on the procedure are under the 'picking up my child' menu item.

Can my child bring toys from home?

Please do not bring any toys from home. The morning/afternoon is full of activities and toys will become a distraction for the child and a stressor for the crew.

What if I need to get a hold of my child during the Kids Camp?

You can either come to the church in person (if the door is locked, simply ring the bell), or you can call the office.  780-594-5542 (the camp is very busy and a person may not always be right by the phone, so you may need to call a few times)

What is your cancellation policy?

We need to plan and purchase all materials needed before the start of the kids camp. If your child will not be attending, please let us know so we can give the spot to someone from the waiting list. If a day will be missed, please let us know that as well.

***  A lot of planning, time, and money is invested in each child attending. If your child is only going to attend a few days, we ask that you please not register the child and leave the spot open for a child who will attend for the full week.

Simply call 780-594-5542 or email .
